Alicante Nougat "Turron" by Pico

$4.99
Size

Alicante Nougat, also known as 'turrón duro', is a hard nougat made of honey, sugar, egg white and almonds, sandwiched between wafer paper sheets. One of Spain's most popular Christmas treats.

Pico boasts a rich history in its industry, with its roots dating all the way back to the 1920s when Antonio Picó Mira opened his first workshop on the present-day Alcoi street, nestled in the heart of the municipality. It was here that Antonio first wielded his mace to craft nougat, a delicacy predominantly sold at local markets during that early era.

Today, this Jijona-based company is led by its third-generation stewards and has expanded its presence to over 15 countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Australia. Additionally, it proudly holds membership in the Regulatory Council of the Protected Geographical Indication for Jijona and Nougat of Alicante, assuring consumers that both the production process and ingredients adhere to stringent quality standards.
