This smoked Sweet Paprika D.O. , called "Pimentón de la Vera", is perfect for personal and family use. Obtained from grinding the Jariza, Jaranda and Jeromín varieties peppers of the Capsicum genus, we guarantee it is healthy, clean, red and free from pests and diseases.
Pimentón de La Vera is a type of "paprika" from La Vera in Extremadura, Spain. It has a unique smoky flavor that is achieved through a traditional drying process; the ripe peppers are first exposed to an indirect-heat oak fire for 10 to 15 days and then finished over a slightly warmer fire for three more days. This drying process reduces moisture, preserving the peppers' flavor and color, and giving the Pimentón de La Vera its signature smokiness and DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) status.
Paprika from La Vera can be used in recipes such as migas from Extremadura, lamb stew, paella, lentils stews, gazpachos, salmorejos, cachuela spread from Extremadura, meat stews, mojo picón, potatoes from La Rioja, etc.
